As part of a series of talks organised by Azadi Network to create a safe space for religious and ethnic minorities, we held our first session on Baluchistan. This was inspired by the impact theory, which suggests that ‘if’ we indeed are to create such safe spaces for marginalised groups to share their stories and history of struggles with the rest of the community, we ‘then’ can create empathy, understanding, and allyship. These are all necessary ingredients for Iranians from different backgrounds to work together for the common goal of a free Iran. Moreover, we were able to explore the rich culture and history of Baluchistan - thereby encouraging a heightened sense of appreciation within the Iranian community for our fellow Baloch people.
